Controls

Click and drag to scroll the timeline left or right
Double-click on any of the bands, and the timeline will automatically scroll to center that date.
The arrow keys will scroll the timeline in small increments.
The page-up and page-down keys will scroll the timeline forward and back one screen per keystroke.
The Home and End keys will go the the beginning or end of the data present in the timeline.

Note:

This is a template for the web-site you will build this quarter. The timeline is the only required element. You may make this web-site as simple or as elaborate as you wish. I intend for it to be a tool, not only for displaying historical information, but also for understanding it.
